NTCOG-K was started May 13th 1977 as Church of God World Missions organizedby Rev. A. W. Brummett with six other pastors among them Silas Ondiek and Francis Maina, in May 16th 1977 its constitution was submitted to the Attorney Generals Office for registration and was officially accepted in October 1977.
Claude and Francis Thayer were first Missionaries in the Church between 1977 to 1979, David and Lettie Morgan were appointed to replace the Thayers from 1979 to1982, The Morgans were replaced by Jack B. and Mary Morris for the next two years from 1982 to 1990.
In 1985 Church of God World Missions changed its name to New Testament Church of God-Kenya hence the initials (NTCOG-K)Fred and Francis Brannen served as Overseers between 1989 and 1998 and finally from 1998 to 2002 David G. Mills Sr. served as the last Foreign Overseer handing over to Moses P. N. Njoroge who served as the first Kenyan Administrative Bishop for 12 years up to 2014
The current National Administrative Bishop David Gilbert Bwire sworn in to office on 23rd August 2014 .
